The Soufriere Hills volcano erupted in 1995, with episodes continuing until 2010. Today, the volcano is one of the most closely monitored volcanoes in the world. The Montserrat Volcano Observatory publishes weekly reports on volcanic activity and, quite frankly, they haven't had much to report in recent years. While we still pay attention to the exclusion zone in Plymouth and observe the weekly reports, there is no reason not to visit Montserrat. In fact, it's a great opportunity to see what a modern-day Pompeii looks like. Come and see for yourself!
